Do You Know Any Details That A Book Review Should Have?

I am supposed to write a book review but I want to know what details need to be included. I have read a lot of reviews from different stories so I have a small idea.
It is also different than a book report since it does not contain a summary like a book review.
Any help would be appreciated thanks.

Short answer YES! However, you need to know that the VFW Veteran Service Officer (VSO) program has more holes in it than a slice of swiss cheese. The larger VFW Posts such as that in Dale City Virginia has a large member base that allows the VSO to attend a Veterans Admin disability rating training class. Most small VFW posts cannot maintain the continuity for an effective VSO. This also applies to the American Legion.
The DAV is an excellent route, BUT only if you can go one on one with the DAV VSO. Every state has several dispersed at DAV sites.
Another source of SURE help is your State’s Veterans Service Department (these are not VA people). For me, I use the California Veterans Service Department 45 miles from my home. They are usually located in major cities in the 50 states. They often have VSOs who travel to smaller towns to make it easier for disabled vets and vets who do not have the means to travel to a large city.
Why is this important to you (and all vets)? 1st: These folks know the VA rating lanuage and the disability codes used by the VA disability raters. The raters follow the BOOK explicitly. The way a disability is described is critical to receiving a positive percentage rating for each “service-connected” disability claimed. If you have been out of the military for a year or more, the VA often schedules the vet for a medical exam with a VA contracted physician (usually QTC, Inc). These physicians are usually foreign born, speak passable english, and are usually internal medicine or general medicine. They are usually NOT specialists in the disability that you are claiming (e.g. Not orthopedics, not psycharists (PTSD), not neurologists (TBI), no experience in cancer related illnesses (e.g. agent orange, gulf war syndrome), not OB/GYN (female vets), etc, etc.. What this means is their diagnosis is usually wrong or partially correct. The impace is when the VA rating specialist reviews your case, it appears that 90% of the decision is based on the QTC physician’s assessment, not your medical records!
The DAV and State VSOs are trained to help advise you on what to do and what to say (or not say) during a VA ordered QTC exam. EVERYTHING you do associated with the VA should be run across the VSOs- EVERYTHING! They will fax your application and all follow up documents to the VA and will have a record of the fax in case the VA loses your package (not unusual event). This means that you will NOT lose any time factor associated to an award in which one or more additional packages must be submitted (e.g. 1st package sent in 1 July 2008. VA lost the package – 2nd one sent February 2009. VA makes an award of 30% disability – VA award pay starts 1 July 2008, not February 2009 – backpay is awarded!).
If your package is totally denied, or partially approved, you have the right to APPEAL. DO IT if you have the documentation (post military medical and/or med records) to prove your point. The DAV and State VSO will help you. DO NOT be late in your appeal. It is due 60 days from the date of the VA award letter (zero percent is considered a disability award). If you do not get the appeal in before the 60 days, you start all over in the process.
If you have to appeal, have your VSO rep explain to you how the VA Decision Review Officer Appeal process and the Board of Veterans Appeals works. The 1st can take only a year or two. The second can take 3 to 5 years. In either case, keep the appeal open if you are convinced that the award decision received was not correct.
This is more than you asked about, but it is important for you and all vets to be aware of the challenges involved in applying for disability compensation for service connected disabilities.
Last note, if you do not have it, get a copy of your medical records at time of discharge or retirement. If you do not have them, send a request to the National Personnel Records Center using their form SF 180 (available from their website with detailed instructions – www.archive.gov/st.louis .

A panel of the voters could then review the individual MP’s salary based on his annual performance, where the salary could go up or down. The panel could also scrutinise the MP’s expenses. If this worked out, could we then expand it to include Members of the House of Lords and Local Councillors?
